SINA MARIA ALVARADO, CPCU
GENERAL ADJUSTER
Ms. Alvarado graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Houston with a Bachelor’s Degree in History in 1993. She enjoyed a distinguished academic career, and was a semi-finalist as a Rhodes Scholar as well as for a Fulbright Scholarship.
She started her career with Paul R. White & Company in 1989 as an administrative assistant. She was promoted to the position of technical assistant while still a student at the University of Houston. Upon graduation from college, she became an adjuster-trainee, and currently serves as a general adjuster.
She has experience in property losses, both commercial and personal lines. She is fluent in Spanish and has provided bilingual services for our clients. Her competency level in the Spanish language allows her to obtain detailed statements from Spanish-speaking insureds and claimants and then transcribe these statements into English. Her interpersonal skills and her ability to communicate allow her to explain the most difficult and complex evaluations, thereby bringing claims into a closing posture.

Ms. Alvarado enjoys a reputation for professionalism, and for the competency she displays in the handling of her assignments. She has served as a co-adjuster in the handling of more complex claims, working with many of our clients’ staff general adjusters. In this role, she has been involved in complex commercial and industrial losses.
She has continued to display an ever-increasing knowledge of the proper handling of larger commercial property claims. Currently, many of our clients have expressed confidence in her abilities by allowing her to be involved in claims regardless of the dollar amount. Additionally, she has accepted assignments which have involved travel into Mexico.
Her commitment to furthering her professional development is shown by her completion of the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter designation. She earned her CPCU designation in January of 2003.
She is a member of the Houston Claims Association and the Society of Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters, and she is an active participant in various industry educational programs.
